The job of a real estate agent may look like one of the
best jobs in the world because they make good money and they have very flexible
working hours. When people see them, they think it’s easy becoming a real
estate agent and the living is just as good but in reality, they have a to deal
with difficulties almost every day. Some
of the main challenges they face are:
Pretending that things are okay
The first of the hardest things that real estate agents
have to do is tell everyone that everything in their life is perfect. In
actuality, they don’t have it easy but they have to tell people otherwise. If
you ask them how the market is, they say the market is great. If you ask how
the business is going, they say that it’s great. Usually, these answers are
accompanied by a big beaming face that makes you believe it.
Missing opportunities to other agents
It kills to see clients that you almost closed deals
with, move on to other agents. In some cases, friends and family members leave
them for another more “competent” realtor and that hurts the most. But, it is
something they have to live with. It creates a very depressing situation
because all that time they spend away from their families is wasted to see a
client go to someone else.
Budgeting can be hard
The life of a real estate agent is not all dandy because
money can be a real issue. At one time, they might score a huge payment and at
other times, they will not be able to close any deals and are quite low on
cash. So mostly, even when times are good, real estate agents manage their
budget like there’s no tomorrow. They have to live conservatively even if their
business is flourishing.
